Dr. Carter will introduce the historical context for understanding the significance
of plants in treating human diseases. Explore the value and diversity of medicinal
plants from around the world and methods used to search for potential new
sources of medicines. Dr. Carter will highlight native, naturalized, and commonly
cultivated medicinal plants of the southeastern United States along with
their traditional and modern uses. Hybrid class: choice of Zoom or in-person.
