This new class will focus on the memory work of the artist Gunter Demnig, who remembers the victims of Nazi Germany by installing commemorative brass plaques in the pavement in front of their last address of choice. There are now more than 72,000 STOLPERSTEINE (lit. “stumbling stones”) in more than 2,000 towns across 24 countries in Europe. The instructor traveled with the artist recently and participated in a number of installations.
