Technology in Policing Seminar: This seminar will explore the use of technology in policing to improve execution of officer duties as well the enhancement of community relations. Seminar participants will learn about the history and current state of technology in policing, the current state of research on police body-worn cameras, and what police body-worn camera footage captures.
The seminar will be moderated by Dr. Wesley Jennings. He is currently an Associate Professor, Associate Chair, and Undergraduate Director in the Department of Criminology at the University of South Florida. Dr. Jennings has over 10 years of experience in conducting policing research and has published and presented widely on various topics related to policing. Most recently he has conducted research evaluating the effectiveness of technological innovations in policing (i.e., use of body-worn cameras).
