This three-session course introduces the basics of transportation planning and the decisions that shape our roads and communities. Explore how traffi c controls are selected, examine the role of traffi c-calming measures in improving safety, and learn about the opportunities and challenges involved in designing better bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure. Session 1: Traffi c controls—intersections, signs, and signals Session 2: Traffi c calming—roundabouts, speed humps, and other safety measures Session 3: Bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure and community design Hybrid class: choice of Teams or in-person.
