Can a long-retired image maker and storyteller fi nd a forgotten British-era road connecting Georgia and Florida? In this engaging presentation, 94-year-old historian and image maker Bill Ryan recounts the saga of searching for the Old King’s Road, a once-famous route built when Florida was under British rule and nearly lost beneath modern development. Along the way, he uncovered remarkable stories that mirror the building of our nation, from the Spanish and French colonial periods and the American Revolution to the Seminole Wars, the Civil War, and beyond. Illustrated with videos, photographs, and historical images, Bill brings this fascinating chapter of regional and American history vividly to life. Hybrid class: choice of Teams or in-person.
