Experience first-hand the preparation of herbarium specimens from the initial collecting event in the field, through pressing, drying, identification, and processing of data from the field notebook, through digitization, sorting and systematic filing into the collection. The class will culminate in an overview of the herbarium, with emphasis on the essential role of herbarium specimens in understanding biodiversity.
