LIR The Atlanta Ripper
Dates: September 17, 2019
Meets: Tu from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM
In the 1910s, a serial killer terrorized the African American neighborhoods of Atlanta. He stalked, murdered, and mutilated African American women and came to be known as the “Atlanta Ripper” or as “Black Jack.” The police were unconcerned about the gruesome murders and, as a consequence, we are not sure how many women he murdered or how long he operated. The killer was an African American man, but we know almost nothing else about him. The police never caught the man who committed these crimes.
