You're an expert at managing people. Would you say the same about managing the security of the data stored in your organization and transmitted electronically? Cybersecurity of the sensitive data that our organizations collect and store is critical to business success. Loss or compromise can lead to reputational damage as well as costly regulatory and statutory fines. Implementing best practices in cybersecurity can assist all managers and staff members with communicating effectively through secure communication channels and reduce the risk of cyberattacks that can lead to lost productivity.

Learning objectives:

  • Define key terms.
  • Explain how to protect sensitive data in a physical location and on mobile devices.
  • List ways that social engineers can target a victim in preparation for stealing data.
  • Identify the red flags of phishing.
  • Describe steps to take in the event of a security breach.
