Effective employee training empowers employees to be more engaged, efficient, and productive in their jobs. You will be introduced to common principles and processes of instructional design (ID). You will examine Robert Gagné's Nine Events of Instruction model and how you can use this model to develop engaging and effective training.

You will be able to:

  • Identify the nine events and the three segments of Gagné's model;
  • Explain the purpose of each event and segment within the training process;
  • Evaluate strategies for each event of instruction;
  • Develop a training plan that includes chosen strategies for each event of instruction.

Meet your instructor... Britt Bugby Bio is an eLearning Instructional Designer at Valdosta State University. Britt is currently a doctoral candidate in Adult & Career Education at Valdosta State University. She holds an M.S. in Library and Information Studies from Florida State University, Secondary Education & Library Media Certification and her B.A. in English from Valdosta State University. Britt has also earned two Quality Matters Certificates: 1) Applying the Quality Matters Rubric and 2) Using Instructional Materials and Technology to Promote Learner Engagement.
