These expectations are also used when measuring employee performance. Learn how to start your employee handbook and understand the importance of having a current and accurate handbook for your organization.

  • Develop the structure of an employee handbook;

  • Identify the behaviors that form employee expectations;

  • Write an outline of employee behavioral guidelines, disciplinary steps, and company policy information that should be included in an employee handbook.

Jarrod K. Murray, founder of Higher Design, LLC, is a distance learning administrator, project manager, and professional personnel manager.  Jarrod’s career has covered academic administration and corporate leadership.  He specializes in talent management and development and management of distance learning programs.  Jarrod received his M.S. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Valdosta State University (2013).  While attending his master’s program, he worked as a Human Resources Consultant for a company based in San Diego, CA (2011-2013). After graduating, Jarrod worked as a university administrator in the office of Extended Learning and in the Center for eLearning at Valdosta State University.  He also served on multiple state-led committees as well as local university steering committees.  Jarrod’s diverse background in both private and public work sectors gives him a unique perspective.
